Peter Salasya Discloses His Heated Phone Conversation With Atwoli: “Wewe Umekuja Juzi”

During the conversation, Atwoli urged Salasya to maintain strong ties with seasoned politicians like himself, Azimio leader Raila Odinga and the Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary. Wycliffe Oparanya to prosper politically.

“Don’t let anyone tell you that as long as you have the support of the youth, you can succeed without the support of Raila, of us, of Oparanya and others who came before you. You will be there after us. We must guide you,” he said.

What did the conversation between Atwoli and Salasya involve?

The conversation, which appears to have taken place after Salasya changed his allegiance from the Azimio coalitionalso saw Atwoli advising Salasya to consult Raila before publicly opposing his decisions.

“If you hear that there is a problem with people like Raila, take your time, go visit them and present your case before him. Don’t make it public until you see him,” Atwoli advised, adding that they had also corrected Raila several times. .

Atwoli also discussed issues such as removal of CDF and KERRAencouraging Salasya to follow suit despite her previous opposition.

According to Atwoli, Raila is advocating for the scrapping of the CDF, arguing that most of the development in the country is done through the devolved units rather than through the constituency fund.

However, Salasya disagrees, saying the CDF brings development closer to the people and plays a crucial role in local growth.

The two leaders also discussed the controversial Adani deals, which the president William Ruto canceled after the indictment of Gautam Adani, the group’s chairman for a KSh32.5 billion fraud in the United States.

Atwoli, who opposed the deal, emphasized his position, while Salasya stressed that he would not blindly follow every decision made by Raila. Salasya also said Raila should listen to those close to him to safeguard the country’s hard-won progress.

Salasya blames Raila for opposition’s poor performance

Meanwhile, MP Salasya blamed Raila for the alleged poor performance of opposition MPs.

He accused Azimio’s boss of “selling out” his ODM MPs to President Ruto during the formation of the core government, which he said weakened the opposition.

Salasya was reacting to Raila’s remarks accusing MPs of greed over the delay in county disbursements.
