Diversions via Croston as police close A59 bridge at Tarleton

Motorists using the A59 are being warned of delays after a crash in Tarleton.

The bridge over the Douglas River – known as Bank Bridge – is currently closed due to the accident which occurred shortly after 10am.

South Ribble Police said to Preston Blog This is a “minor collision” but the road will likely be closed for a period of time to allow vehicles to be recovered. The road reopened around 11:20 a.m.

Croston is expected to be busier than usual on the morning of Tuesday, November 26, as drivers are diverted via country roads between Tarleton and Much Hoole.
