FSU Commit believes DJ Lagway leads Gators to national championship

THE Florida Alligators completely turned the situation around on their season. The first half of the season was so brutal that head coach Billy Napier held his position by a thread. Now they are receive votes in the AP poll, rake in recruits and go bowling after two big wins in the SEC.

Much of that credit goes to true freshman quarterback DJ Lagway. As a starter, Lagway is 4-1 this season and could have been 5-0 if he hadn’t been injured in the Georgia game. He is the real deal and expectations are high. Five-star Florida State offensive line commit Solomon Thomas might have one of the highest opinions.

“I see Florida winning a national championship with Lagway,” Solomon told Gonline users (On3).

With the state of Florida football over the past few seasons, this is quite a step forward.

Perhaps this is a sign that the Gators can turn it around – sinking another dagger into their swooping rival. This is a realistic possibility. Thomas announced that the Gators were still in the running for him.

β€œIt’s between Florida State, Florida and LSU,” Thomas told On3.

Solomon is the No. 13 player in the country, the No. 3 player at his position and the best player in Florida, according to ESPN.

Currently, no projection allows him to change his commitment from one rival to another. But if the offensive lineman is still watching them, there’s a chance.

FSU recruits have jumped ship as the season continues to boom. After a 13-1 record last season, FSU is now 2-9 on the season. Before the win against FCS Charleston Southern on Saturday, they were on a six-game losing streak. They’ve only scored 20 points once against an FBS team, and that was in the Week Zero loss to Georgia Tech in Ireland. So they haven’t done that on American soil this season.

The Gators have already returned three recruits from FSU in recent weeks. Running back Byron Louis turned his commitment on Tuesday. He joined the four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. and offensive lineman Daniel-Pierre-Louis as a fellow defector to rival Florida.

Florida now has the 17th recruiting class in the country and 10th in the SEC rankings. It’s a solid climb backup after hanging around in the mid-40s for most of the season.

Depending on Thomas’ decisions regarding his future, this ranking could move up a bit more.
