Bayer Leverkusen are fighting to keep Victor Boniface beyond this season following several interest in the Nigerian striker from top European clubs.

The 23-year-old striker has been a superb addition to Xabi Alonso’s squad since joining the German club in 2023, leading them to win the Bundesliga title for the first time last season.

However, Bayer Leverkusen are not letting up in their efforts to persuade Boniface to stay at the club longer, even though his current contract only expires in 2028.

Bayer Leverkusen working on new contract with Boniface

Bayer Leverkusen are ready to fend off interest in Boniface as the German champions have begun preparations for a new contract for the club’s top scorer last season, Complete Sports reports.

The Bundesliga champions are set to extend the Nigerian striker’s contract by another year, keeping him at the Bay Arena until 2029.

Boniface has scored 20 goals in 33 league appearances for the club since joining Bayer Leverkusen from Union Saint-Gillloise of the Belgian Pro League last summer.
