LSO says home destroyed after early morning fire southwest of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says a home was completely destroyed by a fire that broke out Sunday morning.

First responders were called to the home on the corner of Southwest 42nd and West Saltillo just before 7:30 a.m.

LSO says on 10/11 the homeowner called 911 to report the house was on fire and someone in the house was trying to put out the fire.

Deputies said one person was taken to the burn unit at CHI Health St. Elizabeth with non-life-threatening injuries. LSO added that it is not clear who was injured.

Authorities said the investigation was turned over to the state fire marshal, but the sheriff’s office estimates the loss is estimated at about $200,000.

The South West, Hallam and Crete volunteer firefighters all responded to the scene.
