After three decades in the game (and without Coreé, who left in the early 2000s), Damage recently marked the occasion with 30Irty: The Anniversary Tour.

Visiting Birmingham, Liverpool, Islington and Leicester in November, the band celebrated 30 years of making music together.

Talk to The SunAndrez Harriott revealed: “I think we are now much more strategic about what we do and where we position ourselves.

“What shows do we want to do? What shows don’t we want to do? How do we want to appear? What is the song selection? What will create the most intense emotion at that moment? What do people want to hear?

“Again, the way we present ourselves, all those things really come into play. They always have, but at this age now you really think about how you present yourself as a group at the audience.”

He continued: “There is a lot of truth and integrity in what we do. When people look at us now, they can feel us. It’s the feedback that we get, they can just feel the honesty and the commitment to the music and the commitment to the journey that they’ve been on with us.

“It’s appreciated. Truth and integrity shine through strongly in much of what we do.

“I think it’s good to be there just for the love. It’s not a question of business,” he added.

“It’s not about trying to make money, it’s just about, like I said before, us boys getting together and having fun on stage. Like Andre said , we do it out of love,” Noel Simpson continued.
