NHAI to introduce advanced VPNs for road safety: Rediff Moneynews

NHAI plans to deploy advanced VPNs with AI video analytics to improve safety on national highways, monitor emergencies and identify road hazards.

New Delhi, Dec 13 (PTI) State-owned NHAI is planning to introduce advanced highway patrol vehicles (RPV) ‘Rajmarg Saathi’ to improve road safety, an official statement said on Friday.

RPVs conduct section inspections on national highways to monitor and respond to emergency situations.

According to the release, additional advanced features of the new RPV will be equipped with “AI video analysis” to capture and identify cracks and potholes as well as other elements, including vehicles, pedestrians, signs signaling and other infrastructure.
