Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his belief that the city of Arey Ksat will become an industrial and service hub in the near future, with a population that will increase to reach that of the capital Phnom Penh.

Currently, the government is working on developing various infrastructure, including the construction of bridges connecting the area, in addition to a large bridge construction project financed by South Korea.

Manet chaired the groundbreaking ceremony for the “Mekong Quay City” development project on the morning of December 17.

The “Mekong Quay City” project is a joint development between TP Moral Group (TPMG) and Khun Sea Import Export Group. It is located in Arey Ksat, along the east bank of the Mekong River, directly opposite the Koh Norea development project. It covers an area of 210 hectares.

The Prime Minister stressed that the significant investment in the project is a clear indication that the Kingdom’s real estate sector is starting to grow again, as Cambodia moves forward hopefully towards its development goals.

He noted that Arey Ksat will experience significant transformations in the future, with a growing population and workforce. It will evolve from an agricultural region towards an industrial zone with numerous factories.

“I believe that future development will not only make Arey Ksat an agricultural town, but also an industrial and service center, just like Phnom Penh,” he said.

In addition to the bridge over the Mekong, he also mentioned the project of an underground tunnel from Phnom Penh. He noted that infrastructure development would not only facilitate travel and economic growth but would also further boost the real estate sector.

“I hope that the potential of this connection will bring development to the east bank of the river, not just at Arey Ksat or this 210 hectare site, but that it will extend east, connecting to the national road 8, transforming it into an industrial zone. as modern as the western side,” he said.

“If the underground tunnel is completed, it will be even better, and I hope we will have it in the future, because the beauty, especially the area under the Chattomuk River, is before our eyes,” he said. -he added.

Dith Channa, CEO of Lucky Realty Co., Ltd, said The post office on December 17, Arey Ksat has enormous potential for the real estate sector. However, due to the lack of a bridge connecting Phnom Penh, property prices there remain low compared to those in Phnom Penh, even though the two areas are only separated by the river.

He explained that currently the most sought-after plots of land in the Arey Ksat area cost between $500 and $800 per square meter, while the cheapest ones start at over $10 per square meter.

“Property prices in Arey Ksat are still low compared to Phnom Penh, even though the two areas are only separated by the Chattomuk River,” he added.

He is confident that “Mekong Quay City” will help meet people’s aspirations and boost national economic growth. This project will also help stimulate activity in the real estate sector, as well as wider investment and trade.

“Once the bridge is built, the real estate market in Arey Ksat will surely explode. Arey Ksat is a great place to live and work as it is located next to the mouth of the Chattomuk River and has a great environment,” he said.
