Police charge second man over fatal double shooting in Rye, Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula

A second man has been charged over the fatal shooting of two people in Rye, on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, earlier this month.

A 29-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman died in Rye on December 2.

Officers believed the woman had gone to a home with another man before a fight broke out with residents shortly after 4 a.m.

The couple died instantly.

Police said the parties involved knew each other.

A 24-year-old Narre Warren man was arrested Friday and charged with murder, aggravated home invasion and armed robbery.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court in May.

A 25-year-old Narre Warren man was arrested today and charged with the same charges.

He was due to appear in court tomorrow.
