YouTuber Zara Dar drops out of her PhD to become an OnlyFans model: ‘I made over a million dollars’ | Tendency

YouTuber Zara Dar recently announced her decision to drop out of her doctoral program to pursue a career as an OnlyFans model. Zara, who until recently championed women in science and technology, made a video explaining why she decided to quit her doctoral studies to focus on OnlyFans.

“I gave up my doctorate”

In her YouTube video titled “Dropping from PhD to OnlyFans Model,” Zara Dar said that the decision to focus on OnlyFans was not taken lightly. “I’ve cried so much over this decision to give up my PhD because it’s a stressful decision, not that I’m particularly sad,” she said in her post. “Moving to OnlyFans and creating content full-time, it’s not just a career choice, it’s kind of like a bet on the direction of my entire life,” said Zara, who counts more of a million subscribers on YouTube, where his past videos included tutorials on machine learning and neural networks.

Explaining her decision to abandon her doctoral studies, Zara said she had already spent a few years in graduate studies, but could imagine a future in academia. She said she could imagine herself wearing a fancy suit and working with a team, or even becoming a professor and having students work under her.

“The people whose lifestyle I thought I envied are tied to someone else’s vision. They will spend their lives working for a company and doing things that they don’t necessarily enjoy,” she said, adding that these people will never get the recognition they deserve.

“Their work could earn someone else’s wealth and fame while remaining in the background,” she said. “Expendable, they will constantly worry about being laid off and will plan their lives around their salaries, budget to pay bills and probably rent a place to live,” predicts Zara, who pursued a master’s degree in computer science at the University from Texas.

Zara said she imagined a different life, where she wasn’t bound by “the expectations of an academic institution or the constraints of a corporate office.”

By choosing not to pursue college or a job in technology, she explained that she could explore and learn about topics that interested her, not just those deemed important by a funding agency.

“I won $1 million.”

And then, of course, there is the financial aspect.

In her video, Zara said she started creating content on Only fans as a side project while she pursued her Ph.D. She made $1 million from her work on OnlyFans – money she used to pay off her family’s mortgage and buy a car.

“Luckily, I avoided taking out student loans. I now have an investment portfolio and am considering buying my own home. All of these accomplishments are just reminders of the tangible rewards of forging my own path and the freedom that comes with it,” she said.

She ended her video by reiterating that most American professors make $100,000 a year and spend their time writing grant proposals instead of doing research. This is not the life she imagined.
