Borussia Dortmund at 10 hold on against Wolfsburg after first half goals

Scorers: Vavro 58′; Malen 25′, Beier 28′, Brandt 30′

Three goals in five first-half minutes saw Borussia Dortmund claim all three points against Wolfsburg, ending a run of three successive draws.

The Bundesliga giants started the match on the right foot and deservedly took the lead just after halfway through the first half as Donyell Malen acrobatically headed home from a corner.

That opened the floodgates at the Volkswagen Arena, when Maximilian Beier ran onto a through ball from Julian Brandt to score a second.

Two minutes later, the tables were turned when Beier asked Brandt to seemingly put the game to bed within half an hour.

However, Wolfsburg were a different team after the break and pulled one back just before the hour mark, before Pascal Gross saw red four minutes later, leaving Dortmund hanging on nervously.

But despite strong pressure from Wolfsburg, they failed to find a second goal to make it a real game, and strong defending from the Black and Yellow saw them claw their way to three crucial points.
