Penybont Young Farmer’s Club’s After Dark Tractor Run raised around £3,500 for two important charities.

The festive show returned on December 22, bringing festive fun and raising money for charity.

The event became extremely popular after it was first held in 2021.

This year we raised money for two charities: the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the DPJ Foundation.

The race started from Crossgates Primary School, and everyone left at 4:30 p.m.

This year’s Best Dressed Tractor award went to Kevin Jones, who won the Gary Powell Memorial Cup for his festive fireside event.

A spokesperson for the race said: “The MND Association is a very important charity for the club and it is one that we want to continue to raise funds for so that they can continue to support those who need,” said a club spokesperson. .

“Motor neurone disease is a rare disease affecting the brain and nerves. This happens when brain and nerve cells, called motor neurons, gradually stop working. It is unclear why this happens.

“The DPJ Foundation is a particularly important charity for those of us who live in rural areas. The foundation supports people in Wales’ agricultural sector with mental health problems.

“The DPJ Foundation educates and informs people about mental health, provides support not only to people suffering from mental health problems, but also to their families, friends and colleagues and operates a confidential helpline 24/7 /7 called “Sharing the Load”.

“The money raised from our tractor run can help them provide a number of services.

“Thank you to all the businesses who kindly donated money or raffle prizes this year! It is much appreciated by all of us.

“Special mention must be given to M Shaw Groundwork’s for their excellent donation as well as the lighting for the event.

“Thank you to Lee Percy for putting on an excellent exhibition on the lake and providing a free drink to all the stewards. As well as Radnor YFC Choir for their performance at the lake.

“A huge thank you must go to all our commissioners and everyone who helped with this event. Special mention to Gaynor James for being presenter all evening

“The final thank you must go to everyone who supported this event and donated money! We raised around £3,500. We are very happy with the amount raised and we hope to continue this event next year!
