Good Lock app to support 23 features in Samsung’s One UI 7: report

Samsung is reportedly set to expand the reach of its Good Lock app with the rollout of One UI 7, its latest update based on Android 15. The app, a comprehensive customization suite for Galaxy smartphones, lets users to enhance their devices with a variety of unique features not available by default.

Currently accessible in more than 40 countries via the Galaxy ShopGood Lock should be available worldwide, according to posts on the One UI subreddit cited bySamMobile. A moderator on Samsung’s official support forum reportedly confirmed these plans, adding that the app could also launch on the Google Play Store, increasing its accessibility. The app is reportedly in the final stages of internal testing and could debut alongside the stable One UI 7 release.

One UI 7 should introduce several improvements Good Lock appimproving usability and resolving complexity arising from its growing feature set. A redesigned interface will include app filters for easier navigation, a new “My Page” tab including a dedicated widget, gesture animation adjustment and expanded edge panel customization.

With the update, Good Lock would support 23 functions, including a routines gallery for sharing and adding routines with other Galaxy users, and the ability to assign different wallpapers to home screens and locking. The colors of the app icon, title and status bar will now dynamically adapt to the selected wallpaper.

Other notable additions include customizing folder icons, selecting the shape of app icons, customizing air controls, and the ability to automatically save videos to external storage.

In other news, Samsung Galaxy S25 series could introduce a car crash detection sensor, just like flagship smartphones like the iPhone 16 and Google Pixel 9, reportedAndroid Authority. According to the report, while this would be a significant addition, the feature has not yet been identified in the software, indicating that it is likely still under development. Samsung appears to be working to improve the security capabilities of its upcoming flagship lineup.
