BBC’s The Traitors is a show known for its mind games, deception and watching contestants compete to win a cash prize.

Yin and Keith were the first contestants to be “assassinated” by the traitors after the event began on Wednesday evening. And Thursday’s episode saw stalwart Nathan being voted out of the round table because his comrades thought he was a threat and possibly a traitor.

After an emotional episode, the group won their first mission, meaning no murders would take place that night. However, the group had to reconvene to eliminate another person who they believed might be a traitor.

Going around the table, Elen received the most votes and was banished from Ardross Castle. After speaking in Welsh, she then confirmed in English that she was a churchgoer, which left the other contestants stunned that they had voted against another churchgoer.

While the three traitors went undetected – although some fans don’t understand how Linda continues to get away with it – viewers have voiced their opinions on Elen’s rejection.

Take X (formerly known as Twitter), @prxtsh expressed: “ELEN?! I’m so annoyed.” @solitairetori echoed the dismay with: “NOOOO ELEN MY WELSH QUEEN” followed by a crying emoji.

Charlotte, who faked a Welsh accent, was also set to be banned, wrote @MatthewRimmer: “Elen’s emotions saved Charlotte.” @Matts_Tweeting agreed: “sad for Elen, she didn’t deserve this vote just because she gets emotional.”

Elen, a 24-year-old translator from Cardiff, joined the series because: “I love the authenticity of the series. It’s not scripted and it’s filled with ordinary people. That was the first reason. And secondly, I honestly thought I would be really good at this game.”

She added: “I’m a very bubbly and energetic girl. English is my second language, Welsh is my first. For this reason I don’t express myself as well in English as I do in Welsh, so people tend to associate this with being stupid Whenever I’m around English-speaking people, they tend to underestimate me However, the way I present myself on the outside doesn’t really represent what’s going on on the outside. interior. It’s something. that I can use in the castle to my advantage.”

The end of Thursday night’s episode saw the traitors preparing the next assassin, and with two loyalists already out of the competition, it looks like things will only get tougher for the contestants.

Traitors airs at 9pm every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
