Conrad Dumbah, Chairman of the NDC-UK and Ireland chapter, has expressed hopes for effective governance under the administration of President John Dramani Mahama, stressing the importance of prioritizing the demands of Ghanaians.

On January 10, 2025, Mr. Dumbah spoke on Eyewitness News’ Point Blank segment, emphasizing the importance of tackling core issues such as access to electricity, water and roads in order to guarantee better living conditions and economic development.

“I will use a catch-all term, good governance, which refers to meeting the needs and serving the public. Acting involves looking at the what and the how,” he said.

Mr. Dumbah stressed the urgent need to improve road infrastructure, describing the situation as dangerous and intolerable. To facilitate the government’s 24-hour economic agenda, he also advocated for greater access to energy.

“What does good governance mean? It involves ensuring that the demands of people across the country are met as well as those of every village we visited.

The feedback we received from the public during the campaign, when my British team joined me, was at times depressing. How much does it cost to drill a borehole for an entire community? Water, drilling.

It’s a nightmare getting from Wa to Accra. It’s a nightmare to cross from Bolga to Wa. This is essentially a death trap, even when traveling north from Accra. In order to support our 24-hour economy, he continued, “road and electrical infrastructure must be improved.”

Mr. Dumbah reiterated that addressing these critical needs would reflect the administration’s commitment to good governance and the well-being of all Ghanaians.
