Composting rules and congestion pricing on the Staten Island Community Board’s agenda this week

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Congestion pricing, regulating compost bins and improving a South Shore playground are just a few of the topics that will be addressed this week by the three community boards of Staten Island at public meetings.

Here’s a look at what each of the island’s community councils has planned:

Community Council 1

Community Board 1 will hold a meeting of its full board of directors on Tuesday, January 14 at 6:30 p.m.

The meeting will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 347 Davis Ave., West Brighton. No specific presentations are planned and regular board business will be conducted.

Community Council 2

A meeting of the Community Board 2 Public Service and Traffic and Transportation Joint Committee will be held on Thursday, January 16 at 7 p.m.

Discussions about congestion pricing in Manhattan, new composting rules and bin requirements from the New York City Department of Sanitation will take place at the meeting, which will be held at 900 South Ave. , Bloomfield, in the third floor conference room.

Community Council 3

Community Board 3’s Parks, Recreation and Environment Committee will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14.

At the meeting, a new spray shower at the Lenape Playground in Conference House Park will be discussed by representatives of the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.

The meeting will be held at the board office, 1243 Woodrow Rd., Woodrow, on the second floor.

Open to the public
