Family of missing Hungarian twin sisters ‘extremely concerned’ as police widen search in Aberdeen

The family of identical twin sisters who went missing in Aberdeen almost four days ago are “extremely concerned” as police widen the search to find them.

Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, part of a set of triplets, were last seen on CCTV on Market Street in Victoria Bridge at around 2.12am on Tuesday January 7.

The 32-year-old men, from Hungary, crossed the bridge and turned right onto a footpath beside the River Dee towards the Aberdeen Boat Club.

Police said the search for the two men, which includes the police helicopter, canine branch and marine unit, as well as emergency service partners, was ongoing.

The search of the River Dee has now been widened towards the coast, including the southern harbor of Aberdeen Harbor as well as towards Duthie Park.

Officers are liaising with authorities in Hungary, where Eliza and Henrietta are from, to support their loved ones as the search continues.

CCTV footage from the area where Eliza and Henrietta were last seen is also being examined and door-to-door inquiries are being carried out.

Police added that the River Dee remains the focus of the search, as there is no evidence the missing women have left the immediate area.

Both Eliza and Henrietta are described as white and slim with long brown hair.

Chief Inspector Darren Bruce said: “Eliza and Henrietta’s family are understandably extremely worried for them and we are working around the clock to find them.

“We are seriously concerned about them and have significant resources dedicated to the investigation.

“We are once again urging the public to come forward with any information relating to the whereabouts of Eliza and Henrietta.

“The focal point of our search remains the River Dee and I would ask you again: if you were in the area at the time, come to think of it, did you notice anyone matching their description?

“Even if it doesn’t seem significant, please pass on any information and let us judge.”

“I again urge businesses in and around the South Esplanade and Menzies Road area to review their CCTV footage from Tuesday 7 January 2025 early morning and contact us if it contains anything that could be relevant to our investigation.

“We’re also eager to hear from anyone with dashcam footage from this era.”

“Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 citing incident number 0735 of Tuesday January 7, 2025.”
