‘It Was Tough Being a Fan’ – WWE Hall of Fame Details Heartfelt Conversation With Triple H During Netflix’s Raw Premiere

There was only one man worthy of launching the new era of WWE on Netflix: Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

Standing in the middle of the ring like Raw has arrived on the streaming service Last Monday, he welcomed fans to a historic evening and urged them to make their voices heard.

“Right now, you are all seen and heard by the whole world,” he said in front of 17,000 people.

“Show them who you are, tell them this is the WWE and we’re louder than anything you’ve ever seen before. »

His words and the cheers they elicited summed up the buzz around professional wrestling at the moment.

These are exciting times – for both stars and fans – and much of that can be attributed to Triple-H se.

As WWE’s chief content officer, he helped breathe new life into a product that some thought was becoming stale.

Among those who feared the business would deteriorate before Triple H steadied the ship in 2022 was two-time Hall of Famer Sean “X-Pac” Waltman.

Waltman, who is also a longtime friend of Lévesque, was on hand for the Raw Netflix premiere last week and has since revealed that the pair shared a candid moment backstage.

“When we were on Raw, I told (Triple H), ‘You deserve all this. And the fans deserve you,” he told Undisputed’s Justin Barrasso.

“Fans have dealt with a lot of bull*** over the years. It was hard being a fan for a while, and I don’t mind saying that. It’s different now.

“He’s there for the fans. There is so much happiness and excitement around WWE.

“That’s what I always imagined for him. It’s incredible.

Waltman then spoke about his experience on Raw last week, noting a positive culture shift when it comes to how legends in the business are now taken care of.

“We are treated so well. “That wasn’t always the case,” he said.

“There have been times over the years where I’ve seen older wrestlers so disappointed that they weren’t even recognized.

“It’s very important to us. It was our life.

“It means the world should be treated the way we are treated. Being on Raw, I loved it.

“I used to tell my wife that, even people I wasn’t close to back then, I’m so happy to see them now.”

Netflix announced last week that the first episode of Raw garnered 4.9 million views worldwide and an average of 2.6 million households in the United States alone, suggesting that these are not just legends like X-Pac who fell in love with WWE again under Triple H.
