New information released as efforts to find missing Menominee, Michigan woman continue

MENOMINEE, MICHIGAN (WLUK) — New information is released in the search for a missing woman near the Menominee Lighthouse near the Wisconsin-Michigan border.

On Friday evening, Menominee City Police shared that the search for water for 42-year-old Lisa Pipp had been suspended after an extensive search.

Lisa Pipp’s boyfriend reported her missing after she walked away from him, upset over an argument, while the two were on the ice in Green Bay on Jan. 13, according to police. Pipp walked away from the couple’s vehicle, toward open water and refused her boyfriend’s attempts to get her to stop, according to the boyfriend.

Authorities say the boyfriend told them he left to get help, but couldn’t find her when he returned.

There is no indication of foul play, according to police.

Police say the search for Pipp, 42, was extensive and included surveillance and witness testimony, drone and ground searches, a helicopter search and a three-day search with the Dive Team. Michigan State Police under difficult conditions.

A shoe believed to belong to Pipp was found in the rocks along the shore. A set of footprints, one shod and one bare, was discovered leading away from the shoreline towards open water. No return prints were identified, indicating she was alone at the time, according to Menominee police.

The road in the search area has been reopened.

Police previously shared that Pipp left the vehicle without his phone or jacket.

Pipp would wear a purple shirt and blue jeans.

She is described as 5’2″, 250 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a cross tattoo on her chest.

“We encourage anyone with additional information regarding Lisa’s disappearance to contact the Menominee Police Department,” a police news release states. “Your assistance is vital in this ongoing investigation.”
