Game over – Paxton wins incredible semi-final

Gourlay and Paxton enter the tie-break final with one point each.

Gourlay’s first shot is short but better than Paxton’s who ends up being passed.

Bowl two is perfect from Gourlay as it rolls towards the jack and covers the head of the mat.

However, Paxton arguably responds with the move of the game by rolling his bowl to the other side and weaving between the red bowl and the jack.

Just as Paxton seems to have put himself in a position of strength, Gourlay manages to outdo him by switching hands and rolling to the same side and seeing his bowl kiss between the jack and the green bowl.

After a tense wait, Paxton manages to thread the needle between two red bowls and hit the jack, his green being closest.

What an incredible tie-break and what an incredible shot to win the match.

Score Update – Nothing to Divide Them

Gourlay takes advantage of his momentum to take first blood in the tie-break.

But in End 2, Paxton finds his own rhythm as Gourlay is forced into an aggressive play but fails to break the green bowl, only to see his bowl broken in the distance.

Paxton then accurately throws a second bowl to the jack, to give Gourlay a difficult cannon shot – which he completely misses.

The final end is approaching.
