Lindsey vonn hooks a door with his arm and does not finish his opening race at Skiing Worlds

Saalbach -Hinterglemm, Austria (AP) – Lindsey vonn Brotète lost the feeling in the right arm after hanging it to a door that left him opening race at the world alpine ski championships on Thursday, after participating in the super-G despite feel sick.

Vonn, 40, recently returned to the ski circuit after almost six years of retirement – with A new right knee in titanium.

“I did not wait six years to stay in bed because I am sick,” said Vonn.

These are the ninth worlds of Vonn but her first since the 2019 edition when she won bronze downhill in her last race before retirement. The American won two gold medals in the worlds, after swept the super-G and the descent in Val d’Isère, in France, in 2009, and has a global transport of eight medals.

Vonn is also the 2010 Olympic descent champion and has two bronze medals of the Olympic Games.

In a recent interview with the Associated PressVonn said the main objective of his return is to compete in the Jean-Cortina Olympics next year, when the women’s skiing takes place in Cortina d’Ampezzo, the Italian station where Vonn holds the record with 12 victories.
