Geneva – The International Boxing Association (IBA) said on Monday that it would file criminal complaints against the International Olympic Committee (CIO) in the United States, France and Switzerland.

The CIO based in Switzerland allowing the females of the boxers of Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-Ting to compete and win gold medals in Paris last year “could serve as a reason for criminal proceedings,” said IBA in a press release.

The boxing organization led by Russia was banished from the Olympic Games, but he cited an executive decree on transgender athletes by US President Donald Trump on Monday to justify the criminal complaints.

“According to Swiss law, any action or inaction which presents a security risk for participants in the competition justifies an investigation and can serve as a reason for criminal proceedings,” said IBA, adding that “similar complaints must be filed with prosecutors of France and the United States.

The IBA, which was funded by the Russian State Energy Company, Gazprom, has also promised free legal advice to boxing females to pursue cases against the president of the CIO Thomas Bach and other high Olympic officials.

“The order of President Trump from banning transgender athletes of female sport validates the efforts of IBA to protect the integrity of female sports,” said the president of the boxing organization Umar Kremlev.

IBA vs. ioc an old fusion

Legal threats intensify a quarrel of several years between the now exiled IBA and the IOC, and between Umar Kremlev and Thomas Bach.

The IOC has taken control of the current boxing tournaments in the last two summer games in Tokyo and Paris.

The IOC said on Monday that legal tactics was “another example of the IBA campaign against the IOC which has been underway since their recognition was withdrawn … for questions related to governance, to the judgment and arbitration as well as questions concerning their finances ”.

The IOC has always declared that the boxers of Algeria and Taiwan, who were assigned a woman at birth and to identify themselves as women, have respected all the rules of the Olympic tournament.

The two also participated in Tokyo in 2021 and did not win medals.

Khelif and Lin were disqualified by the 2023 world championships managed by IBA, who said they failed the eligibility tests.

“The two female athletes mentioned by IBA are not transgender athletes,” reiterated the IOC on Monday.

Trump frequently did a bad day to boxers like men and last Wednesday in the White House, he spoke without proof of “two women or two people who transferred and the two won gold medals”.

Stricter

Donald Trump signed the decree, entitled “Keeping men outside female sports”, which aims to ban transgender athletes from participating in sports for girls and women.

The following summer matches were in Los Angeles in July 2028 during Trump’s presidential term, and he urged the IOC last week to change everything “to have to do with this absolutely ridiculous subject”.

The high -level Olympic sports route, swimming and cycling have already adopted rules in the past three years that exclude athletes who have gone through male puberty to participate in female events. Global athletics evolved on Monday towards the adoption of stricter rules.

The rules of the tournament, especially for gender problems with Olympic boxing, are generally the same as during the Janeiro 2016 Rio Games, although the IOC quoted career records of the two women targeted by IBA on Monday Show that they have an ordinary number of victories by referees who arrested IBA struggles.

“Such data is relevant when evaluating the question of whether Yu-Ting and Khelif had an increased performance advantage and / or a security risk compared to other successful boxers in the women’s category”, said the IOC. AP
