The Kickboxing Federation collects funds for the Muay Thai World Championship

The Kickboxing Federation of South Sudan (SSKF) organized a fundraising event on Saturday at its head office in Juba to support the participation of its team in the next Muay Thai championship in Thailand. The tournament should take place from March 4 to 18.

The president of the SSKF, Puro Okello Obob, praised the generous contributions of the supporters and expressed his confidence in his team’s desire to represent South Sudan on the world scene.

“Thanks to kickboxing and Muay Thai, we are progressing. We send a strong message to the world that South Sudan is a nation of hospitality and tourism, “he said.

“We are brothers and sisters in sport, and through it, we can promote peace in our country and in the world.”

Benjamin Omolo, the federation secretary of information, confirmed that fundraising had collected at least $ 8,000 for team expenses.

“Until now, we have achieved our goal of $ 8,600 to cover tickets, visas, food, registration and participation costs,” he said.

Abednego Thon, one of the best fighters in South Sudan, said the team was ready to make the country proud.

“We are ready to represent South Sudan and provide solid results,” he said.
