FANS reckon they’ve discovered the right way to eat a Cadbury Creme Egg.

Whether you’re a classic chewer or like to scoop out the gooey middle, there’s no wrong way to enjoy the treat.

A survey of 1,500 chocolate lovers found that biting the top and using your tongue to suck out the contents is the most popular way to enjoy it.

A quarter of those surveyed agreed that this reliable method was their choice.

Simply biting into the egg, consuming the chocolate and filling it together comes a close second, with 23% of people agreeing.

Other methods include sucking the cream from the shell, which received 15% of the vote, and “peeling” the foil like a banana and biting it bit by bit, which was accepted by 13%. voters.

Even using a teaspoon was mentioned, with 3% of people admitting to the strange habit.

Meanwhile, 8% of those surveyed said they “nibble like a little animal” to make the experience last as long as possible, while 7% eat the whole egg in one.

The research was commissioned by the egg’s manufacturers, Cadburyto launch its “Admit it to Win” Competition.

Through the campaign, the chocolate empire is inviting fans to confess how they devour their Creme Eggs, with winners receiving up to £10,000.

“We’ve been asking for a long time, ‘How do you eat yours?'” said spokesman Joshua Collier.

“But honestly there’s no right or wrong way and people should do what they want – we’re finding more and more wacky ways to eat theirs.

“Some of them are almost unbelievable, and there are methods that we never even thought of, having produced Cadbury Creme Eggs for over 60 years.”

Some of the more extreme ways Brits have eaten a Creme Egg include frying it, while another admitted to turning theirs into a sweet and savory sandwich by combining it with bread.

One respondent eats the dough first, then freezes the outer chocolate shell overnight and eats it the next day.

Another revealed he crushed the confection with a rolling pin before eating it with a fork.

While one fan took things to the next level by dipping chips in, another admitted to sucking the goo out with a straw.

Some have even put it on pizza, 7% and 6% have added it to croissants – and 6% even use it to create a sweet version of the traditionally salted Scotch egg.

The study also found that 16% of fans admit they often eat their egg alone because they’re afraid others will judge the way they consume it.

And while 72% think this gooey delight is an “Easter must-have”, 47% would like to see them available all year round.

More than half think they should be eaten at room temperature, while 27% prefer them cold, according to the OnePoll.com numbers.

“Food is deeply personal, and how we enjoy it often says a lot about who we are,” added Joshua Collier.

“That’s why experimenting with the way we eat isn’t just fun: it’s an expression of individuality.

“Cadbury Creme Eggs have been a backdrop for playful indulgence for decades, inspiring everything from debates to challenges, and that spirit of experimentation is something to cherish. »
