Dozens of coast guard volunteers continue to seek a man who has disappeared while trying to cross the Cook Strait on a Jetski.

The Coast Guard of Marlborough and Mana helped the police to search and save themselves to search for the man, who disappeared after leaving the Tasman district on Monday.

His jetski was found in Cook Rock, at the top of Southern Island.

The Coast Guard had searched the Cook Strait, Marlborough Sounds and the Purirua coast for the man in recent days.

The president of Marlborough of the coasts, David St John, said Thursday that Marlborough volunteers would be joined by Havelock Coastguard to continue research.

“It’s a big research effort for the team, and tomorrow we have volunteers who take days off – that’s exactly what we have to do,” said St John.
