Cricketer Robin Uthappa responds to PF fraud charges, arrest warrant

Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa landed in legal trouble after an arrest warrant was issued against him in connection with an alleged Provident Fund (PF) scam. The warrant, issued by PF Regional Commissioner Sadakshari Gopal Reddy, directs the law enforcement agencies to take up the matter urgently and take appropriate action.

Uthappa, who allegedly oversaw the management of Centuries Lifestyle Brand Private Limited, is accused of deducting PF contributions from employees’ salaries but failing to deposit the funds into their accounts. The alleged scam was said to amount to Rs 23 lakh.

The matter is currently being investigated by the police and the PF department, and further developments are expected.

Robin Uthappa sheds light on alleged PF scam

Robin Uthappa responded to the allegations in a public statement on his social media platforms, denying any involvement of the executives in the operations of the companies in question. He clarified that his role was limited and did not involve supervising their daily activities.

“In light of recent news regarding the PF case against me, I would like to provide some clarification,” he began.

“In 2018-19, I was appointed as a director of these companies due to my financial contributions in the form of loans. However, I did not have an active executive role nor was I involved in daily life. business operations. Given my demanding schedule as a professional cricketer, television presenter and commentator, I do not have the time or expertise to participate in their operations. Robin Uthappa was born on November 11, 1985 in Kodagu, Karnataka. He made his ODI debut in 2006 and has represented India in all formats. Uthappa played a key role in India’s historic victory at the first ICC T20 World Cup in 2007. In IPL, he played with teams like Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
