Liam Payne's girlfriend returns to Argentina: 'She wants the right people brought to justice' after his death

THE One Direction star Liam Payne dies came as a shock to fans and friends, and although three arrests have been made in the case, which saw Payne fall to his death, there are still many unanswered questions. Investigators apparently hope that Payne’s girlfriend at the time of his death, Kate Cassidycan answer some of these questions, since she would be returning to Argentina for an interview.

THE New York Post reports that Cassidy made arrangements to return to Argentina to speak with investigators. It is clear that Cassidy herself is not suspected of any wrongdoing. We just hope it can fill in some gaps in what we know about the events surrounding Payne’s death. According to an anonymous “friend” of Cassidy…

She will help in any way she can. She wants the right people to be brought to justice, and if that requires her to answer their questions, she will. There’s obviously no reason for her not to cooperate. She tried to help him clean up for a long time and is still haunted by what happened. Whoever supplied Liam with drugs should be prosecuted, she said.

On October 16, Liam Payne fell to his death from the third floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo hotel. A variety of medications, including what we call pink cocainewere found in his system at the time of the fall. Three people were charged in connection with Payne’s deathWith charges that include drug supply as well as “abandonment of a person followed by death,” at least one of those charged was a hotel employee at the time.

The couple stayed at the hotel for two weeks before the accident, but Cassidy herself wasn’t even present at the time of the singer’s death. She had left Argentina two days before the incident. It is reported Cassidy had difficulty dealing with Payne’s drug use comparing the circumstances to a “hostage situation”.

It’s unclear what investigators hope Cassidy can shed light on, but the Post reports that one of the men charged, referred to simply as a “drug supplier,” is Payne allegedly sold drugs twice on October 14, two days before his fall, and the same day Cassidy left Argentina.

It appears police are hoping Kate Cassidy can help fill in the gaps about how Payne spent the two weeks at the hotel, and that those answers could help strengthen the case against the three people charged. It is not known exactly when this interview will take place. At this point, it is also unclear whether further arrests could be made. It may depend on exactly what Cassidy has to say.
