As Trump threatens tariffs unless fentanyl trafficking stops, opioid overdoses continue to decline

President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday threatened to impose 25% tariffs on all products from China, Canada and Mexico.

In an article for Truth Social, Trump said the tariffs would remain in effect until illegal immigrants and “drugs, particularly fentanyl,” stopped entering the United States. But even though Trump has proposed tough measures against drug dealers, overdose deaths have actually declined.
