In the Syrian provinces of Aleppo and Idlib, the government army continues to repel the offensive of the extremist group Jabhat al-Nusra (banned in Russia) and large groups of foreign militants, the general command of the Syrian army in a statement published on the official page of the Ministry of Defense. on Facebook (banned in Russia, owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist in Russia).

“Our armed forces operating on the fronts around Aleppo and Idlib continue to repel a major attack carried out by armed terrorist formations affiliated with the so-called Jabhat al-Nusra, which use various types of heavy weapons, weapons mediums and drones in their attacks and rely on large groups of foreign terrorists”, we can read in the message.

The General Command of the Syrian Armed Forces warned that “terrorist organizations disseminate misleading information, information and videos on their platforms with the aim of intimidating citizens” and called for relying on the coverage of events by the Syrian state-controlled media.

On November 28, the command of the Syrian armed forces said that on the morning of November 27, the extremist group Jabhat al-Nusra in the north carried out a “large-scale attack on a broad front.” According to the statement, the terrorists attempted to strike “villages and towns protected by the Syrian army and military installations” and continued to attack the positions of government forces. Later, Al Mayadeen TV channel reported that Syrian army units launched a counter-offensive against the positions of the militants, who captured more than 20 localities north and west of the city of Aleppo.
