MOHAMMED KUDUWestern Ham

The Hammers’ left-footed Ghana international, 24, is probably the closest thing in the Premier League to a potential equal-value replacement for Salah.

Liverpool were sniffing around this summer and are known to assess Well done highly, although his numbers this season suffer badly from a five-game suspension.

But reports of an £85million release clause do not help his cause when there could be better value elsewhere in the market.

JOHAN BAKAYOKO- PSV Eindhoven

Left-handed right winger? Check. Well known to Arne Slot? Absolutely, after playing a big role in the dethroning of PSV on Slot’s Feyenoord as champions of the Netherlands.

And an exciting young talent with the potential to become a superstar? At 21 and already Belgium international, absolutely.

Bakayoko ticks a lot of boxes, including a contract that expires in less than two years. PSV’s fee demands would determine how much of a gamble he represents.

KARIM-DAVID ADEYEMI – Borussia Dortmund

The Reds have been monitoring Adeyemi for a long time, even before he joined Red Bull Salzburg at the age of 16.

After showing only flashes of his potential in his first two seasons at Dortmund, the Germany The international, 22, really took his first steps in this campaign before suffering an injury which has kept him sidelined since October.

His stats are miles away from Salah’s – but so were Salah’s before he arrived at Liverpool.

BRYAN MBEUMOBrentford

The least sexy option but could be the most versatile Cameroon international, 25 years old, to be the best? There are good reasons why Arsenal have also been linked to Mbeumo.

He came right behind Erling Haaland and Salah this season in the race for the Golden Boot with eight goals, which already almost matches his best tally in the Premier League.

Would he be even better in a more forward-footed team? With his contract expiring in 2026, it’s a tempting punt.

OMAR MARMOUCH – Eintracht Frankfurt

Who better to replace the Egyptian king than his compatriot, especially given the red-hot form he’s been in so far this season?

With 11 goals and seven assists in 11 Bundesliga matches, Marmoush is one of the hottest properties in European football. Not being a full-fledged winger shouldn’t be a deal breaker for a coach like Slot.

But the price could be high if competition for the 25-year-old’s services proves truly fierce.
