In a remarkable display of dedication to wildlife conservation, a team of forest officials managed to rescue a rhino calf trapped in a swamp. The calf, estimated to weigh between 600 and 700 kilograms, was carefully lifted onto a wooden board and carried on the rescuers’ shoulders to safety.

Indian Forest Service official Parveen Kaswan shared a video of the rescue operation, with the caption: “This is a video from August. When a rhino calf weighing 600-700 kg was rescued lifting it onto the shoulders by our teams, sometimes that’s what conservation feels like.”

The footage documents the team’s coordinated efforts as they navigate difficult terrain, demonstrating both their commitment to wildlife preservation and the physical demands that such rescues entail.

Social media users thanked the “silent protectors of nature” in the comments section of Kaswan’s post.

More power to the dedicated conservation teams who work tirelessly to protect vulnerable species.
