Highway closed due to livestock trailer crash in Williamson County

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) – Traffic was stopped on Interstate 840 West after a crash involving a trailer transporting livestock, according to the Williamson County Fire Department.

Williamson County Fire/Rescue Crews were called to I-840 West at Pinewood Road around 12:20 a.m. Monday to help Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies round up a 1,600-pound vehicle. bull which had broken away after the accident. An animal rescue truck also responded to help the bull.

“After running for a while, the bull got into an argument in the middle of the highway and refused to move,” firefighters reported.

Firefighters and animal rescuers had to place the bull on a plastic skid and load it into the trailer using a winch.

The entire section of I-840 was closed due to the incident. Apart from the frightened bull, no injuries were reported.

The highway reopened around 2:50 p.m.
