TEC member speaks to residential school principals

Suryapet: Telangana Education Commission (TEC) member Ch Venkatesh on Sunday ordered principals of government residential schools to maintain a record of the health status of students.

He was speaking after surprise visits to Imampet Welfare Boarding School, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas in Suryapet and Kodad Minority Welfare Boarding School, where he examined the quality of food served to students.

Venkatesh asked the students whether the food was as per the menu or not. He also examined the pantry and kitchens.

Venkatesh asked the principals to conduct special classes in the evening to class 10 students to prepare them for the board exams. He asked auxiliary nurse midwives stationed in schools to keep a record of students’ health. He stressed the need to be vigilant in the event of the appearance of seasonal diseases.

Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy, who accompanied Venkatesh, said study visits would be organized to Ramappa temple in Warangal for residential school students. He responded positively to students’ requests to organize study trips.
