Top Mechanic Reveals Four Reasons Motorists Should ‘Not Buy’ a Used Car

He said: “Here are some big warning signs. If you buy a used car, if this happens, don’t buy it.

“If you’re driving down the road and it’s swerving to one side or the other all the time, don’t buy it, it could have been ruined.

“If the engine is cold and running at full speed but won’t start, don’t buy it.

“If you’re driving down the road and the temperature gauge keeps going up, don’t buy it, it could be hundreds of different things, why take the risk?”

Last year, 7.2 million used cars were sold in the country, an increase of 5.1% year-on-year.

“You know, if a car feels good, you test drive it, it doesn’t feel good, don’t buy it.”

Wheeler Dealers host Mike Brewer has previously urged motorists to look around vehicles for any damage before finalizing a price and handing over cash. Even small damages could give motorists room to haggle for money over the final price they pay, even for used models.

Mike previously said: “Be careful of any damage to the car. If there is damage or items that need to be repaired, you can use this as a way to negotiate the price down.

“I do it all the time on Wheeler Dealers. That’s what I’m looking for, cars that have flaws so I can negotiate the price down.
