Chicago traffic: Pedestrian struck and killed on Edens Expy. ; northbound lanes of I-94 closed near Lincolnwood, Ill., ISP says

LINCOLNWOOD, Ill. (WLS) — All lanes of northbound I-94 were closed in the northern suburbs after a fatal crash Sunday.

The crash occurred around 6:23 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the Edens Expy. at Touhy Avenue, Illinois State Police said.

Police said two vehicles and a pedestrian were involved in the crash.

The pedestrian died instantly.

Northbound I-94 was closed and traffic was detoured onto Peterson Street at 7:55 a.m.

The ISP did not provide further details about the crash.

The highway closure comes as thousands of people are expected to travel after the Thanksgiving weekend.
