Pelicans’ Brandon Ingram to sign with Klutch Sports agency

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Expected to be one of the NBA’s top free agents in 2025, Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram has signed with Klutch Sports Group after recently firing his former agency, according to ESPN.

Klutch represents elite talents such as LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Ingram’s teammate Dejounte Murray.

Ingram’s decision comes after he and the Pelicans failed to reach a contract extension last summer. The Pelicans also engaged with other teams during the offseason to discuss Ingram-centered trades, but nothing came to fruition.

Ingram, 27, was drafted second overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2016 and was sent to New Orleans in the blockbuster deal that sent Davis to Los Angeles. Pairing Davis with James allowed the Lakers to become 2020 NBA champions immediately after the offseason trade.

The Pelicans owe Ingram $36 million this season before his contract expires this summer. He is currently averaging 22.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists this season, but has been out for several games due to right calf soreness.

Ingram’s teammate, franchise star Zion Williamson, is out indefinitely with a hamstring injury.

The Pelicans are currently 4-16 this season, the worst record in the Western Conference.

Fortunately for the Pelicans, the players are returning from injury. Dejounte Murray, CJ McCollum and Trey Murphy III are expected to be in the lineup Sunday night (Dec. 1) when they travel to New York to take on the 11-8 Knicks at 5 p.m. on the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network. The game can be found on antenna Ch. 7 or Cox cable Ch. 10.
