Australia prohibited Deepseek on government devices – Security – Software

Australia has prohibited Deepseek from all government devices to fear that the Chinese artificial intelligence startup has security risks.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a compulsory orientation for all government entities to “prevent the use or installation of in -depth products, applications and services and when they delete all existing bodies of products , in -depth applications and web services from the whole Australian government systems and devices, “the statement said.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Tony Burke, said that Deepseek posed an “unacceptable risk” for government technology and that the immediate ban was “to protect national security and the national interest of Australia”.

The prohibition does not extend to the devices of individuals.

Technological actions around the world plunged after the launch of Deepseek last month – apparently a fraction of rival models of AI and requiring less sophisticated chips – questions have raised the huge investments of the West in flea manufacturers and data centers.

Australia’s decision to ban Deepseek follows a similar action in Italy, while other European countries and elsewhere also study AI society.

Taiwan prohibited government services from using Deepseek earlier this week.

The government of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese imposed a government -scale ban on the Chinese social media application Tiktok two years ago for security problems.
