Winter Weather Advisory for Southeast Michigan for Monday

Sunday at 2:17 p.m. EST, the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory effective for Monday between 7 a.m. EST and 4 p.m. EST for Cass, St. Joseph, Branch, Hillsdale and Berrien counties.

“Freezing rain is expected. Ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch,” the weather service said. “Most areas will see only a layer of ice, which is enough to create dangerous travel conditions. Freezing rain will be most prolonged in southern Michigan, where ice can reach a tenth of an inch. Far northwest Indiana could transition to rain before noon Monday.”

“Expect slippery roads. Dangerous conditions could impact travel on Monday morning,” explains the weather service. “Slow down and use caution when traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.”
