Tyson Fury has left fans speculating that he will try a different approach to beating Oleksandr Usyk in their upcoming heavyweight title rematch after being spotted looking huge during training sessions.

The Gypsy King is seeking revenge on his Ukrainian opponent after seeing his unbeaten record shattered as Usyk became unified heavyweight champion in May.

Fury has kept a low profile as he continues to work through an intense training camp alongside trainer SugarHill Steward ahead of his rematch against Usyk on December 21.

His previous defeat saw Fury outclassed in the ring by Usyk who again respected his underdog status and showed incredible athleticism to nullify the pair’s size and distance.

But Fury looks set to make the most of his size advantage against Usyk next month, with the 36-year-old looking to have gained some significant muscle mass ahead of this mouth-watering contest.

The Wythenshawe-born boxer has recruited a wide range of sparring partners with a view to taking on Usyk, with Kevin Lerena among those hired by Fury’s training team.

The duo faced off in a series of intense training sessions and the South African later shared an image of the pair standing side by side, with Fury’s giant figure taking fans by surprise.

Fury tipped the scales at 18.7lbs for his loss to Usyk and, from the looks of it, could surpass that figure for their second showdown, having already recorded a heaviest fighting weight of 19.8lbs for their previous crossover clash against Francis Ngannou.

Another fan also added, “Yes I think he needs to step in heavy and get back to what he does best putting his weight on fighters to tire them out and catch them with his power. It can still move very well when it’s heavy.

Fury took a similar approach in his first resounding win over former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and used his weight to good effect by pinning the American in the corner and unleashing a flurry of punches.

He could attempt to do the same against Usyk, but some critics say an increase in weight could give the Ukrainian an even greater technical advantage.

“In my opinion, Fury’s career best performance was against Klitschko. That said, Usyk is no Wilder. Fury’s main problem in May was lack of stamina – going heavier would make things even worse. difficult for him,” another article on X said.

Fury and Usyk will meet for the second time at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles on the line.
