Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office Raises Funds for Christmas Gifts Through No Shave November

Circleville, Ohio — The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office took a creative approach to raising funds for local families in need this holiday season with a No shaving November/December fundraising event. The initiative, which saw several staff members give up their razors for a good cause, raised almost $3,500 to support Christmas gifts for families in the community.

As Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey humorously noted: “Just in case you’re wondering, we don’t have any broken razors at the sheriff’s office,” referring to the growing beards of the participating staff. Funds raised from the event were used to purchase Christmas gifts for Pickaway County families, ensuring a brighter holiday season for local children and families.

On December 21, 2024, Sheriff Hafey, accompanied by several deputies, personally delivered the gifts to the families. In addition to gifts, families received holiday meal given by Barbecue in town in Circleville, further spreading holiday cheer.

Sheriff Hafey expressed his gratitude for the generous support from the local community, saying: “We are very grateful for our partnership with City Barbeque and the support we received from the community during this event. It’s heartwarming to see how everyone comes together to help those in need during the holidays.

The success of the November/December No Shave fundraiser not only helped bring Christmas cheer to local families, but also highlighted the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office’s continued commitment to supporting their community.
