Jeremy Renner celebrates his “rebirth” 2 years after a snowplow accident

Jeremy Renner feels grateful two years after his near-death experience.

THE Star of the “Avengers”53 years old, in a Instagram post Wednesday said he was “ringing in my second ‘ReBirthday’ today” and reflected on the fact that he had been seriously injured in a snow plow accident on New Year’s Day 2023.

Renner posted a photo of himself at the hospital surrounded by medical staff.

“I send my love, respect and gratitude to the army of people it took to get me back on my feet. Thank you to every nurse, doctor, first responder…I literally owe my life to you.”

Renner was hospitalized in January 2023 after being crushed under a 14,000 pound snowplow. The actor was crushed while trying to helping nephew with car problem. He suffered more than 30 fractures and a collapsed lung, and in an interview with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer in 2023, he recalled that he could “see my eye with my other eye.”

In his Instagram post, Renner thanked his “beautiful and courageous nephew and the angels (my neighbors) who jumped to my aid and endured the chaos for 45 long minutes on the icy asphalt on New Year’s morning,” adding that he was “so sorry (for) all the haunting images I have imprinted on you all (I will spare you all the meat grinding images).”

He added that his “list of gratitude is very long” after receiving an outpouring of well wishes from people around the world, and he wrote that thanks to “my family who never left me, with divine intervention, a little luck and a lot of miracles…I am strong again.”

The Hawkeye actor also said he is now “more open,” “more loved,” “more connected” and “excited to take the next step.”

Renner’s recovery included “countless hours of physical therapy, peptide injections, IV infusions and pushes, stem cells and exosomes, red light/IR therapy, 2.0 atmosphere hyperbaric chamber, cold diving , and the list goes on and on,” he detailed in a press release. November 2023 Instagram Post.

Among those who supported Renner during this process were his “Avengers” co-stars. Last year he told People magazine that Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. checked on him while he was in intensive care. “We ended up having really good conversations over FaceTime, like we were dating or something,” Renner said.

In January 2024, Renner began starring again in his Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown“.

“When I walk, I concentrate on each joint, each step” he told USA TODAY. “It takes intelligence just to do the basic things that we don’t usually think about.”
