Music Against Child Poverty: Sunderland concert raises over £50,000

The sold-out concert included performances by The Futureheads and Paul Smith of Maximo Park.

Others took the stage to perform classic songs from music legends.

Some really dressed the part, with fans treated to appearances from “Elton John,” “David Bowie,” “Queen” and “Madonna.”

Steph Capewell, founder of the charity Love, Amelia, said: “Music Against Child Poverty was a powerful moment where two worlds collided: music and community came together for an incredible display of support.

“It was not just about raising money, but also about raising awareness of the crucial issue of child poverty and coming together to make a real difference.

“Sunderland has proven that it’s not just a city of music, it’s a city of compassion, support and action.”
