Preston Memorial Hospital to receive .5 million grant for expansion

KINGWOOD, W.Va (WDTV) – A local hospital is receiving $1.5 million to improve patient care.

Preston Memorial Hospital received this money through the West Virginia Rural Hospital Grant Program.

The planned 6,000-foot expansion will include additional oncology patient care areas, as well as square footage for providers and support staff, according to hospital officials.

The $1.5 million grant is part of a larger $40 million to improve health services across the Mountain State.

“We are deeply grateful to Governor Jim Justice and the state of West Virginia for this generous investment in rural health care and our hospital,” said Melissa Lockwood, chief administrative officer of Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital. “This grant will significantly enhance our ability to serve our patients and meet the growing health care needs of our community.” »
