Information advisor urges secretaries

In a bid to combat unethical lobbying practices, Information and Broadcasting Advisor Mohammad Nahid Islam has issued a semi-official letter (DO) to all secretaries of government ministries.

In the letter, the advisor expressed concerns that unscrupulous people were using his name or claiming to have family ties to him to influence various government offices for personal gain.

“Recently, some dishonest people and groups have invoked my name or pretended to be my relatives to lobby for personal benefits, which is completely unethical. Such acts tarnish my reputation,” Nahid said.

The letter reveals that false documents, including recommendations allegedly signed by the advisor, were discovered.

The advisor asked all relevant authorities to ignore any such attempt made under his name or using false endorsements.

The authorities have been directed to immediately inform RHM Alaol Kabir, the personal secretary (assistant secretary) of the advisor, in this regard.

In the letter, the advisor also highlighted the government’s commitment to reflecting public aspirations and urgently implementing comprehensive state reforms.

He also urged government officials and employees to actively cooperate in these efforts.
