Tenneco Denied 401(k) Lawsuit Pause Given Longshot’s High Court Bid

A federal judge rejected Tenneco Inc. has attempted to halt a potential class-action lawsuit over its retirement plan fees, saying the U.S. Supreme Court does not appear likely to grant the company’s pending petition, arguing that the dispute falls under individual arbitration.

The Supreme Court has denied three recent petitions breeding similar problemsand Tenneco does not offer a convincing explanation for why its petition will fare better, judge Judith E. Levy of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan said in a Dec. 6 statement order.
