New Dog Ice Cream Shop Opens in Belleview

BELLEVIEW, Fla. (WCJB) – Family owned store Salty Paws is all about cats and dogs. There are toys, treats, leashes and of course ice cream.

“We have always loved our pets. We actually had a dog, his name was Shaggy. He’s kind of the reason behind it all. He was a fantastic dog and we loved him to death. said owner Zachary Jacob.

Mother-son duo Leigh and Zachary Jacob tell TV20 the store is a franchise, and this one is the first in the state.

Zachary says there are special toys from Warrior K9 Hero, an initiative that supports veterans.

“This is a tough toy that is much harder for dogs to chew on than our plush toys. Ten percent of the profits go to this organization. Jacob said.

Other flavors include Birthday Cake, Maple Bacon, and Cookie Crumble. They are made for dogs, but humans could bite them too.

“People can actually eat it, I wouldn’t suggest it, I don’t market it that way. It’s not as sweet. Yes, if you accidentally licked your finger a little, it won’t hurt you. said owner Leigh Jacob.
