Barcelona confirm long-term injury absentee ‘has been declared fit’ to face Getafe

La Liga giants Barcelona announced some entirely positive news on the personnel front on Friday.

This comes amid confirmation that Andreas Christensen, absent due to long-term injury, is now considered fit and available for selection once again.

Defender Christensen, for his part, has not been on the field since August.

This is due to a long-standing Achilles problem, which eventually forced the Denmark international under the knife.

In recent weeks, Christensen has made significant progress in his recovery, first spotted on the turf during individual training, before taking a full role in group activities.

And, as mentioned above, such improvement should result in an imminent return to competitive duties for the former Chelsea man.

As confirmed by a statement on Barcelona’s social media on the eve of the club’s La Liga encounter with Getafe:

“Andreas Christensen has been declared fit! Welcome back, Andreas! »
