The Rangers are more like the scum of the NHL than they are willing to admit

The five-game homestand that began on November 30 and featured four of the league’s weakest teams gave the Rangers an opportunity to head in the direction of their skid and get back on track.

First the sad Canadians, and after a confrontation with the formidable Devils, here are the terrible Penguins, the mediocre Kraken and finally, to conclude on December 9, the 32nd and last Blackhawks in total.

The Blueshirts were going to take their chances on a large part of the soft underbelly of a league that includes an ever-expanding mushy middle, much like a blob in science fiction movies.

But the funny thing is, these opponents feel the same way about the Rangers. The tired, the poor, the masses huddled together in the NHL, are lining up to take a chance against the team with the worst record in the league (2-7-0) and worst winning percentage (.222) since on November 21.
