Rocky the Elf Raises Over $5,000 While Sitting on a Roof for 48 Hours

LIVE OAK, Fla. (WCJB) – Rocky the Elf has been perched atop Walt’s Live Oak Ford dealership for the past 48 hours as part of his fundraising efforts.

Berry Raulerson, known as Rocky the Elf, said, “We will likely exceed our $5,000 goal and reach over $7,000. »

Rocky the Elf has dedicated his time to fundraising and collecting donations for a cause close to his heart, making sure kids stay warm this festive season. Raulerson is a member of the North Central Florida Resource Officers’ Caring for Kids initiative. He emphasizes the importance of finding ways to support the children of Suwannee County.

“Knowing the need is there – we see it every day as resource officers – being able to help is the best feeling in the world. A lot of people may wonder why kids don’t have coats, but the truth is they often don’t,” Raulerson explained.

He noted that the response from the community has been overwhelming, with donations ranging from cash to warm clothing like jackets. Raulerson believes giving back is crucial, especially during the holiday season.

“When you see someone and think about their situation, remember that it’s not the child’s fault. “That’s why it’s important to give, especially at this time of year when everything revolves around children,” he added.

Although Rocky the Elf is no longer on the roof, his mission continues. All donations will go directly to children in need this holiday season to help them stay warm.
