Jenna Fischer explains why Amy Adams almost didn’t get the role on ‘The Office’

Although John KrasinskiJim mostly only had eyes for Jenna FischerIt’s Pam The officehe definitely had a type.

Fischer recently pointed out that Amy Adams Katy Moore’s “wasn’t the first person cast in the role” on the BNC “Hot Girl”, a Season 1 episode of the mock sitcom, aired in April 2005, because they “looked too much alike”.

“We originally shot ‘Hot Girl’ for a whole day with a completely different actress as Katy,” she recalled while co-hosting Angela Kinsey on their office ladies podcast. “And unfortunately, she just wasn’t quite right for the role.” They had to let her go. We replaced her with Amy.

“I remember when Amy came on set, she was so perfectly Katy. She improvises a lot, guys. We will come back to this. But many of his improvisations are taken into account. She just knew who this woman was,” Fischer added.

Although she said Adams was everyone’s first choice, Fischer explained, “There was concern that Amy and I were too similar.” I guess one of the writers even said, “I’m sorry. We cannot choose it. She’s like Jenna 2.0.’ And so they got cold feet and chose someone else.

The writer’s comment inspired a line when boss Michael Scott (Steve Carell) compares their looks and calls Katy “Pam 6.0.”

While Pam was engaged to warehouse worker Roy (David Denman) in the early seasons, Jim became romantically involved with Katy. She later returned in the season 2 episodes “The Fire” and “Booze Cruise” before Jim interrupted because he was secretly in love with Pam. Jim and Pam ended up getting married in the two-part Season 6 episode “Niagara” in 2009.

Based on the 2001–2003 BBC series of the same name, The office ran for nine seasons on NBC from 2005 to 2013.
